Tell Oregon lawmakers to oppose unnecessary wake sports restrictions!
Right now, three bills are being debated by state lawmakers that would cause unnecessary harm to the thriving recreational boating community and businesses right here in Oregon. Tell your legislators to oppose these bills and protect our boating community!
The bills would ban towed sports along the entire 20 miles of the Newberg Pool, levy a tax on boat purchases, and dilute the mission of the state boating agency. If the bills pass, powerboaters will see access taken away for the benefit of riverfront property owners.
We could be just weeks away from these unnecessary restrictions on the upper Willamette River – but you can help. Whether you like to wake board, tube, water ski, or wakesurf, you will be impacted by these laws if we don’t come together and use our voices to advocate for our community. Even if you don’t boat on the Willamette, your favorite river or lake could be next.
Tell your legislators to oppose HB 2555, HB 2695, and HB 2734 – it will only take a minute!
