The National Park Service and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) have released a proposed management plan that will balance outdoor recreation, fisheries management, and conservation for Biscayne National Park – the nation’s largest recreational marine park in the National Park System.
The plan’s goal is to avoid unnecessary restrictions, all while increasing the abundance and size of fish species by 20 percent. The plan is a win for anglers and boaters alike, requires the use of sound, science-based fisheries management tools like regular reviews for size and bag limits, and provides reasonable and responsible recreational access.
As an outdoor recreation enthusiast, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission needs to hear from you before the plan is finalized. Tell them you support the proposed the Biscayne National Park Fishery Management Plan!
