Protect Public Waters and Boating Access
Tell Congress to reauthorize the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund

Ensuring boaters can enjoy healthy and safe public waterways is vital to the success of the recreational boating industry. However, there are a series of threats to this pillar of the $1.2 trillion outdoor recreation economy. For example, aquatic invasive species threaten natural ecosystems and recreational waterways; misguided policies impacting access; and a critical program for boaters and anglers is set to expire next year without congressional action.

To ensure sustained access to public waterways, federal policymakers MUST implement practical, science-based measures that protect public waters and maintain reasonable access. These include: providing additional resources for invasive-species prevention; improving interagency coordination with a set of practical and fairly enforced rules; and, most importantly, reauthorizing the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund. This critical initiative represents the backbone of conservation in all 50 states and supports important aquatic ecosystem programs and recreational boating infrastructure projects across the country.

Write your member of Congress and urge them to reauthorize the Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund.
