Responsible Fuel Policy

Protecting Consumers from E15

E15 is becoming more widespread at local gas stations across the country – despite the risks fueling with high levels of ethanol, like E15, pose.

These fuels corrode small engines, like those in boats, void warranties, and put people at risk. And most don’t know it’s against federal laws to use E15 in these engines.

More than 60 percent of Americans mistakenly assume that any gas sold at their local gas station is safe for all their products.

Nearly 9 in 10 say the government should do more to protect consumers from misfuelling with E15.
